Exhibition Team

The Apex Breakers Exhibition Team is for those swimmers aged 10 and Under who are comfortable in the water; able to perform basic skills (kicking, arm movements, bubbles, etc.), but are not yet able to swim the required lengths independently (15 yards or half a lap  for 6&U; 25 yards or full lap for 7&Up); and able to listen to instructions and wait their turn at the wall. Although Exhibition swimmers will not participate in the regular Tuesday night meets, we will have a Saturday morning Modified Mock Meet just for the Exhibition team towards the end of the season so they can show off their skills to family and friends. Once swimmers can swim their required length they will be transitioned over to the Apex Breakers Swim Team and will be able to sign in for the remaining Tuesday night meets. The Exhibition Team swimmers will swim with their practice age group time in lane 6 and will be invited to all extra functions including Thrilling Thursday, Fun Friday, and the Ice Cream Social after the Swimathon.

*If the exhibition team is full, please do not register your swimmer for the regular team if they cannot swim independently. Doing so creates a safety issue during early practices and will result in them being moved to the bottom of the exhibition team waitlist after the season starts, which decreases the likelihood of them making it on the team.

Little Ripplers Program

The Little Ripplers is a program offered by the Apex Breakers for children who are 3 or 4 as an introduction to swim team.  SWIMMERS MUST BE AT LEAST AGE 3 by June 1st, BE POTTY TRAINED, AND BE ABLE TO DEMONSTRATE THE ABILITY TO JUMP TO A COACH IN THE WATER. This is not a replacement for swim lessons/instruction that is typically done in a one on one or a small group setting but rather a great adjunct.

The Little Ripplers will be taught the basics of swimming and be exposed to an introduction of the following strokes: Freestyle, Backstroke, and Breastroke. In addition, they will be introduced to water safety and have their swim instruction performed by one of the coaching staff of the Apex Breakers. Little Ripplers will not be required to purchase a team suit and will have the OPTION to participate in a Saturday exhibition meet, where they will have a catcher in the water at all times.

Should a child progress and demonstrate the ability to swim mostly independently he or she MAY be invited to transition from the Little Ripplers to the Apex Breakers at any time. The fee structure for the Little Ripplers is the same as the Apex Breakers which is 85.00 per participant (with a discount if they are the 4th child of the same family registering for either the Little Ripplers or the Apex Breakers). Little Ripplers will be assessed before the first practice. If they are not willing and able to swim with a coach, they will be asked to try again next season (team fees will be refunded, pool fees are not refundable). If the Little Rippler group is full you will be placed on a waiting list. If any spots open up after assessments, we will contact you during the first week of practice. If you have any questions, please contact us: [email protected]

*Pool registration is NON REFUNDABLE

** Pool registration is required and separate from both the Exhibition/Little Rippler program and the Apex Breakers swim team
